Be it Amitabh Bachchan turning back smoking a ciggy, or Bachchan smiling. It is the James Bond that never was.

And the other would be AGNEEPATH a remake of Palma's SCARFACE. It was made by Mukul S. Anand, who probably was the most widescreen of Indian filmmakers, and who could only make a film in crescendos. A Bachchan close-up with the background tracking is one of the most awesome images I have ever seen.Satish Naiduhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07430507934390595828noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1321477757562078600.post-24931249833100824792010-10-20T12:59:44.873-05:002010-10-20T12:59:44.873-05:00IV- good one on Bachchan. Every kid wanted to be him.Gautamhttp://www.brokenprojector.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1321477757562078600.post-20791936526808800232009-11-02T06:33:08.353-06:002009-11-02T06:33:08.353-06:00Ignatiy, a few of my favorite Bachchan performance...Ignatiy, a few of my favorite Bachchan performances (in addition to ZANJEER) are in Ramesh Sippy's SHAKTI (by the director of the much-better-known SHOLAY, alhough this is a stronger film); MUQADDAR KA SIKANDAR (by Prakash Mehra of ZANJEER); and his first breakthrough performance, as an introverted doctor in the 'cancer film' ANAND. Also: if you haven't, you *must* see the Hrishikesh Mukherjee's GUDDI, Bhaduri's first great film, and a good film about film fandom and filmmaking. I blogged a little about it here.girishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05079328617099035797noreply@blogger.com
